According to the Post-doctoral Research Guide of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Government Gazette B 5867/06.10.2023) Article 1. Preamble – General provisions

The School of Early Childhood Education (SECEd) of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh) encourages and enables scientists to conduct Post-doctoral Research in fields that are part of the School’s research interests and subject areas.

The main objectives of Post-doctoral Research at SECEd, AUTh are the following:

  • Extension of the results of the researchers’ doctoral thesis to new scientific directions.
  • Supporting young scientists able to contribute to the progress of science, research and innovation, especially in cutting-edge fields.
  • Dissemination of research results and technology transfer.
  • Qualitative and quantitative upgrade of scientific research.
  • Promoting the academic prestige and achieving international distinction of the research work conducted in SECEd.

Post-doctoral research is the research carried out by Doctorate holders and is focused on the production of new knowledge (basic or applied) following research procedures, as these are defined and recognised by the research community of the relevant scientific field. Post-doctoral research must be original research that contributes to the scientific field it belongs to, while its subject must fall within the knowledge subjects covered in such field.
