(*) Jessica Katharine Brown
Jessica is a specialist in Early Childhood Education and Care and is currently working closely with Austria, Cyprus and Czech Republic leading DG REFΟRM funded ECEC reform projects. Prior to this role Jessica worked as an ECD Specialist for the UNICEF Europe and Central Asia regional office, providing technical and advisory support to 22 UNICEF country offices across the region. Jessica is a member of the EU’s Technical Working Group on ECEC which develops guidance and technical frameworks for ECEC across EU member states and she was part of the DG Employment Social Affairs and Inclusion’s working group for the revision of the EU’s Barcelona Targets for ECEC.
Jessica also works in southern Africa. She is the ECD programme director for Development Workshop, an NGO that supports communities in urban slums in Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe and she previously worked for UNICEF in Namibia where she coordinated national ECD reforms. Jessica is on the board of a number of UK based charities working on children’s programmes, and she is the president of an ECD foundation in Switzerland.  Jessica is a reviewer for the South African Journal of Childhood Education. She has a background in Political Science and Psychology, with a focus on social policy and child development.
